How a statutory e-invoice clears the government exchangeAn invoice is issued in the client system, then serialised into the statutory XML format and validated before it is sent. It goes to the government exchange, which either accepts it and delivers it to the customer, or rejects it. A rejected invoice is corrected and resubmitted without gapping or repeating the invoice number.
